With Tenby’s visiting walrus now appearing to have said farewell to the coastal town, having last been seen spotted on the lifeboat slipway on Bank Holiday Monday - his/her legacy still remains, with many wanting to pay homage to the wild creature which has gained celebrity status during its time at the resort.

Now the town’s Harbwr Brewery (who welcomed another special visitor over the Easter weekend in the guise of Welsh rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit) - want to commemorate the Arctic walrus’ visit with a specially named ale.

“Tenby has been graced with the presence of a walrus - a sight we may never see again, so we wanted to commemorate the occasion with his/her very own beer,” said Harbwr Brewery’s director and co-founder Julie Jones.

“All we need now is your help to choose a name and a style of beer, so please throw some ideas at us!”

The special ale will be brewed at the premises microbrewery on Sergeant’s Lane - before hopefully being served up over the coming months.

Although dubbed Wally by many, other suggestions on the Brewery’s Facebook page so far include - Tenby Tusk, Wally’s Light Pale Ale, Wandering Walrus...and Sumo (if you know, you know!)

You can head to the Harbwr Brewery’s Facebook page to have a shot at naming the ale.
