Narberth Talespinners are holding auditions for their September production - a musical comedy called 'Sex, Drugs, Rick 'n' Noel'. Written by David Tristram (who also wrote two of the one-act comedies that the Talespinners staged last week), 'Sex, Drugs...' is the funny and poignant story of two mature students, studying history and a whole lot more at university. Together, they learn a lot about life, about women, about themselves. Not much about history though. Brilliantly written and with lots of laugh out loud gags, the show also has some great music. There are four main roles. Rick and Noel, both aged 30-40; Maxine (Rick's university tutor) also aged 30-40; and Helen/Rachel (student) aged 20-35. In addition, there is a smaller walk-on part for a waiter in an Indian restaurant, and other walk-on parts of students. Auditions will be held in the function room at the Begelly Arms, Begelly, on Monday and Tuesday, at 7.30 pm. There is a chorus needed too, so anyone who fancies a singing part is also very welcome to attend. For more information, contact Derek Webb on 01437 532688 or Janis Hopkins on (01834) 810179.
