Pembrokeshire's music-lovers are in for a fantastic treat this month, as Folly Farm, Begelly, gets ready to host another musical extravaganza from the Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra. The event, kindly sponsored and staged by Chevron Pembroke Refinery, will feature popular classics such as Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake suite and Dvo?ák's The Golden Spinning Wheel, alongside the more modern landmarks of Hollywood, from Star Wars and Ben Hur to Titanic! All proceeds from the event will go to support The Lady Taverners and the Rotary Club of Saundersfoot. Said Chevron's Phil Thompson: "The philosophy that we've built up over the years with Folly Farm is that local charities are to benefit from these events, which are so strongly supported by local people; as such, every penny made from ticket sales goes directly to the elected charities. We're delighted to be hosting another event with Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra and are looking forward to raising many thousands of pounds for these worthy causes." Lady Taverners' West Wales chairman, Jane Kemp, said: "The money raised for Lady Taverners from this event will go directly towards helping children in Pembrokeshire with special needs. Previous concerts held at Folly Farm have been a fantastic contribution to our funds and I'm sure this one will be no exception." Rotary's Charles Hopkinson added: "This is the first time we've worked on an event in partnership with Chevron and we're confident that it's going to be hugely beneficial to the many local charities supported by Saundersfoot Rotary. Ticket sales are already going well!" This not-to-be-missed event, introduced and conducted by Michael Bell, takes place in the Follies Theatre on Saturday, November 25, at 7 pm. Tickets, costing £10, are available from Frost's Hardware in Saundersfoot (tel. 01834 812400), Proposals Bridal Shop, Swan Square, Haverfordwest, and the Folly Farm Box Office (tel. 01834 812731).
