TENBY-born conductor Grant Llewellyn and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales are offering families the perfect introduction to classical music in Haverfordwest this May.

The Orchestra will be taking an evening of music for all the family to Sir Thomas Picton School, Haverfordwest, on Saturday, May 11, at 7 pm.

The concert will feature music that all the family will recognise and enjoy, as the Orchestra performs hits such as music from Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet (used as the theme to The Apprentice), Sousa's Liberty Bell March (recognisable from Monty Python's Flying Circus), and the theme from Wallace and Gromit.

The musicians will also journey into the world of the truly greatest classical music ever written, including the opening to Beethoven's dramatic and thrilling Symphony No 5, and Ravel's Bolero.

The concert will close with the arresting theme to the BBC One hit drama Doctor Who - a piece well known to the Orchestra of course, which records the soundtrack music to Doctor Who in their home at the Wales Millennium Centre, BBC Hoddinott Hall.

As well as a fun and entertaining evening of music for all, there will also be opportunities for budding young musicians to try out instruments, before the concert.

Single tickets for this concert are priced at just £15. For all concerts the Orchestra also offers family tickets, where all the family can attend for as little as £12.50 for one adult and up to two children, and £18 for two adults and up to four children.

Tickets for the concert in Haverfordwest are available through the BBC National Orchestra of Wales Audience Line, by calling 0800 052 1812.
