Virtuoso French guitarist Claude Bourbon will be making his first visit to Pembrokeshire when he appears at Burnett's Hill Chapel, Martletwy, next week (Wednesday, October 3). Classically trained in Switzerland, Claude has spent the past seven years performing all over Europe, and his fifth CD 'Merci, Thank you...' was recorded live last year in Brussels. His musical influences are equally wide-ranging, from Mississippi blues to the music of Medieval Spain, and from jazz standards to Bach. His versions of Ravel's 'Bolero' and Gershwin's 'Summertime' are legendary, and his concerts have been described as 'mesmerising masterclasses of acoustic guitar playing'. "The wonderful acoustics and intimate setting of Burnett's Hill should provide the perfect venue for this amazingly talented guitarist," said concert organiser Keith Johnson. "This promises to be one of the highlights of our winter season and is sure to be a sell-out." The concert starts at 7.30 pm and tickets are available from the Pembroke Bookshop.
