To pay tribute to the 75th anniversary on June 6 - known as D-Day, Tenby Museum and Art Gallery hosted a talk by David Llewellyn, ‘The View From Across the Channel’.
David has had a passion for history for as long as he can remember with a particular focus on both military and local history.
David currently works in the private sector in a dual role of both archivist and project officer in a cutting edge national archival project.
He is fascinated in making history both engaging and accessible and helping ensure its preservation and access.
In a part of his spare time he creates and delivers talks and presentations on a variety of historical topics.
The talk explained how unprepared the Germans were for the invasion and how the allies fooled them to thinking it would take place somewhere else.
The event was well attended followed by an interesting Q&A, which provided a detailed account of how the day unfolded.
The Museum’s current D-Day exhibition will run up until the end of December 2019.
