Sir,
Tenby Museum and Art Gallery has served the local community for over 140 years an looks forward to more successful years entertaining and informing both local and all our tourist visitors, so essential to the economy of the area.
As the oldest museum run by an independent charitable trust, the trustee body enjoys a great sense of responsibility for and commitment to safeguarding the heritage, creating a real sense of place, looking after the objects and records which are our DNA and benefiting the community.
We have challenging and interesting times ahead as we drive the museum forward in a competitive market, attracting both visitors and finance.
The museum has over 16,000 visitors each year. While the admission charge ensures the continued activities in the museum, these visitors spend in the town, in the shops, in the accommodation, in the cafes and restaurants.
The existing trustees woud welcome fresh input from the community into how the Museum and Art Gallery can best maximise the wider economic potential.
If anyone would like their voice heard and help develop an integrated future for the museum, contact Michael Williams on 01834 842809 or email [email protected].
Michael Williams,
Chair of Trustees.
