AFTER 25 years loyal service as a volunteer at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery, 84-year-old Doug Perry has finally decided to hang up his tools and call it a day.

Doug has been involved in several aspects of the museum's day to day running, including exhibition design and creation, sign writing, events for children for the Big Draw, including drip-and-pour events in the style of action painter Jackson Pollock, screen-printing classes, events on printmaking and the hanging of over 150 art shows, including three that exhibited his own works from his long and varied art career spanning over 60 years.

As well as being a volunteer at the museum, Doug has been actively involved in various town activities, including the choir, Stagestruck, Tenby Golf Club and Probus.

Doug's enormous contribution to the museum was honoured with a celebratory party, when previous curators, past and current members of staff and volunteers and trustees paid their respects to his work.
