Following the successful launch of Tenby Childcare last year, Tenby Childcare After School Club (Tenby 842482) has been launched at Tenby Infants School, with open access to all Tenby schools. For ages three to 14, it offers children a chance to learn, relax after school, and have fun with their friends, leaving parents time to concentrate on their work or studies. Children can be escorted safely from school to the club, which opens during term time, 3.15 - 5.45 pm, Monday to Friday. There are a limited number of places still available, as this stimulating environment is proving popular with both parents and children alike. On-site activities include art and crafts, snooker/ pool, homework area, table football, construction/ development toys, music and dance and, of course, an area to relax and much more. Each session costs £7.50, and although kept to a minimum, charges must be made in order to cover the costs of running the club. With help from the Welsh National Assembly, and continued support through Clubiau Plant Cymru, the club aims to meet the National Assembly targets of providing affordable flexible childcare for parents wanting to return to work, training or education. Some parents may even be eligible to claim Child Tax Credit and Working Tax Credit, giving tax relief as a way of helping to pay for the cost of childcare.
