Sir, May I, through the columns of your newspaper, express my gratitude to the people of Tenby and elsewhere in Pembrokeshire who have so kindly offered so much advice and support and feelings of genuine sympathy during the last difficult months for our community on Caldey Island. The fact that so many have proffered warm wishes has given us strength in our time of need. As Cistercian monks, we are moved by your care, which has built so many bridges in our hearts to the mainland of Tenby. On behalf of all the brothers, I thank you for the overwhelming encouragement in which you have shown that the aim of our monastic community on Caldey is fully recognised and appreciated. May God bless you all. PS. You can be assured that there is no TETRA-mast going to be placed on the Island.
Father Daniel, Abbot of Caldey Island
