As we were going to press yesterday (Thursday), we were awaiting a statement from Labour MP for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire, Nick Ainger, regarding details of his expenses.

As the MP expenses scandal continues, Mr. Ainger, whose salary was reported by Wednesday's Daily Telegraph as being £64,766, is alleged to have tried to claim £3,371 for furniture - including £768 for a Man Ray styling chair and £1,434 for a sofabed - but was paid £3,075.
