Last Saturday, the Quaynotes were at Picton Hall, Haverfordwest, where they were invited to sing by the Paul Sartori Foundation.

The evening of song and readings was a chance for people who had lost a loved one to dedicate a message in the Paul Sartori Book of Remembrance and attend the 'Light up a Life' service.

The service, led by Mark Griffiths, consisted of four pieces sung by the choir, readings of favourite poems and two congregational hymns.

All were then invited to light a candle in memory of their departed, while the choir sang Mozart's 'Ave Verum Corpus'; a lovely moment which was part a moving evening for all present.

At the end of the service, Bob Parsons, Quaynotes chairman, and Jane Palmer, representing the Griffon Choir, presented a cheque for £500 to the foundation. This was the proceeds of a Christmas concert performed by both choirs at Carew Cheriton.

Tonight (Friday), the Quaynotes are singing at the grand opening of the new Amroth Parish Hall at Summerhill.

The evening commences at 7.30 pm and admission is free.
