This year will see the first county orientated 'arrive and drive' Karting Championship take place! Aimed at both motorsport fans and non-fans alike, the Pembrokeshire Karting Championship aims to bring affordable motorsport to everyone in the county.
The championship is to be organised by the 'Karting Crew Group'. The group has been running since 2004 and has been holding private karting championships on a small scale. Two of the members are in their final year of university, studying for a Motorsport Management degree, and believe this to be a fantastic chance to gain practical experience of what they have learnt. The concept sees everyone taking part in identical machinery, meaning close and intense racing, with plenty of thrills and spills!
The championship, which kicks off April 19 at 11 am, during the Easter holidays, will take place at the county's premier racing track, Carew Karting, and depending on further interest, there could be more rounds taking place throughout the summer and onwards.
