A mother and daughter from Pembroke recently took part in the 'Race for Life' at Scolton Manor, raising a magnificent £700 in the process.
It's the fourth year that Linda Fleming and her daughter Lisa have taken part in the fund-raising event for Cancer Research UK.
But it was a particular challenge for the duo this year. A few months ago, Linda underwent major brain surgery which led to complications causing her to contract meningitis and she had to spend five weeks in Morriston Hospital.
"It took more of an effort this year and my daughter had to hold my hand throughout the race which I could not have done without her help," said Linda, of Freemans Walk.
"I still have many problems, but it was a pleasure to take part in the Race for Life once again which we do in memory of my sister Bernyse Jackson who was sadly taken from us with this terrible disease," she added.
