Its not just rock 'n' roll at the Celtic Blue Rock Festival which is set to open its gates for free to campers on Friday, August 4. The festival at Llanfyrnach is run by the Celtic Blue Rock Community Youth Arts Association, a large organisation of volunteers who work hard all year to support and showcase the many diverse forms of art offered in West Wales. The kids area has 105 volunteers alone! Links with colleges and schools focus on the involvement and importance of young people and education. The organisation is committed to the promotion and education of renewable energy and environmentally sustainable practices. The main sponsor is REST Ltd., a wind farm company, and car sharing and public transport is encouraged with a car parking tax of £15. On offer is a chance to camp with your family for the weekend in a beautiful unspoilt location on the top of a hill with a backdrop which frames the sun setting behind the Preseli Hills, just perfectly for free or relatively little expense and be part of something unique. A chance to broaden your horizons through music and art forms. A real coming together of people to celebrate life and community spirit. To guarantee a car parking space you can log on to the website http://www.celticbluerock.org.uk">www.celticbluerock.org.uk. There are cafés and plenty of undercover venues if the weather doesn't hold so no need to let bad weather put you of. There will be an eco zone to showcase environmental issues and a craft zone displaying and selling the beautiful creations of local craftspeople. And the most incredible array of kids and family workshops run by local voluntary community arts groups which will gear up to a carnival explosion of noise and colour. The glam rock dressing up tent is an experience not to be missed! There's drumming, bellydancing, kitemaking, bannermaking, clay oven breadmaking, circus, singing, lantern-making, swing boats and bouncy castles, chips, burgers and ice cream, and so much more. And if this sounds too hectic there's kids relaxation, yoga and storytelling and even a kids cinema too! There's laid back acoustic acts and healthy kids snacks and fruit smoothies in the Jungle Juice bar. The festival is committed to supporting and showcasing local music and in return, the musicians all give their time free of charge in support of the festival. Bandit, an S4C Welsh language programme, has sponsored the festival and will be paying royalties to any bands they show on TV. They will have a tent and will be filming on the weekend. With five stages, the music on offer is totally diverse and there is something for everyone from your nan to your nipper. There's a tranquil oasis garden in bloom and a recycled garden installation feature, an undercover sandpit and a baby and toddler space with nappy changing facilities and toys and toddler garden. And if that's not enough, there's always just pure and simple good old Rock 'n' Roll!
