A town councillor's request for more public shelters to be erected in Tenby has been considered by Pembrokeshire County Council.

Back in June, Clr. Mrs. Trisha Putwain claimed that there was a lack of shelters placed around the resort, much to the disappointment of elderly visitors to the town.

At Tuesday night's meeting of the town council, town clerk, Mr. Andrew Davies, said he had been in touch with Mr. Glenville Codd, area maintenance manager for Pembrokeshire County Council, who said that they were prepared to restore a roof on the Esplanade gardens shelter, with a clear perspex design favoured which would help prevent any anti-social behaviour issues taking place.

Mr. Codd also said that the county council were looking into designs for a shelter by the North Walk, with some ideas to be presented before the next meeting of the town council.
