Tenby's Celtic longboat teams received a valuable pre-season boost last week, when Mrs. Lesley Fisher, of the Tenby House Hotel, donated a set of Croker racing oars costing nearly £1,000. Tim Deere-Jones (longboat teams captain) said: "These high-tech, Australian-made oars are very much top of the range. They are lightweight and very well balanced and will make a major contribution to the success of Tenby's rowers in this season's Celtic Longboat League, as well as UK-wide events such as the Thames Great River Race. "We are always grateful for sponsorship and support from within the Tenby community and Mrs. Fisher's extremely generous gift represents a magnificent start to the season."
