"More cricket umpires are needed urgently in Pembrokeshire," says County Club chairman Trefor Evans, of Whitland.
Mr. Evans somehow finds the time to be chairman of Pembroke County Cricket Club and to officiate as an umpire each week in Pembrokeshire league and cup competitions.
Speaking to Observer Sport about a course to recruit new umpires, Trefor Evans said: "We want to see more former and current cricketers enjoying the game from the middle without being out for a duck or getting hit for six. Apart from playing, it is the closest that you can get to the action on the field.
"Come and give it a go by attending a course for new umpires which will be held at Cresselly Cricket Club starting the second week in November and lasting about ten weeks."
