After taking part in the beach clean a few weeks ago, where so many people volunteered to help clean up our beaches, it was disappointing to be met with this sight on Monday evening when leaving the North Beach.

It is clear that many people want to dispose of their rubbish in the correct way, but unfortunately there isn’t the provision for them to do this! Every bin along the North Beach was in a similar state.

Surely one of the first actions the council need to do at the beginning of the season is provide enough bins for the safe disposal of rubbish?

Sadly this was at 7 pm and no doubt by the time the council employees come to empty the bins on the Tuesday morning, most, if not all, of this rubbish will be strewn across the beach courtesy of the seagulls, who only do what is natural to them when presented with such opportunities.
