A Monkton man has been fined for cannabis possession, after being caught hiding some down his trousers.
Twenty-one-year-old Jacob Threlfall, of Commercial Row, pleaded guilty to a charge of possessing 0.3 grams of cannabis when he appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Prosecutor Sian Vaughan told the court that police officers attended an address in Monkton for an unrelated matter, and could smell cannabis inside.
“Some of the drug was found on the kitchen table and Mr. Threlfall admitted to police to having some down his trousers,” she said.
Defence solicitor Mike Kelleher told magistrates that police officers were attending on an unrelated matter and were invited into the premises to keep dry as it was raining outside.
“Had that not happened, my client wouldn’t have been arrested,” he told the court.
Magistrates gave Mr. Threlfall a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
