It was a day of mixed fortunes for Saundersfoot in the latest round of matches in the Martin James Health Club Pembroke County Cricket Indoor League. In the first game, Neyland were 81 all out. Paul Murray top scored on 20, supported by Nick Kooman with 16, Sean Hannon with 15, and Greg Miller with 14 Spinner Simon Stanford took two for 12, David Parcell two for 11 and David Dunfee one for 12. In reply, Saundersfoot collapsed and were bundled out for 34, with Yannick Parker the only batsman in double figures with 10. Nick Kooman followed up his useful batting to take two for seven and there was a wicket each for Greg Miller and Patrick Hannon, as well as two run outs. The Saundersfoot team fared much better in the other match against Haverfordwest B, who were bowled out for 70 in reply to a Saundersfoot total of 107 for four. All-rounder Simon Stanford was 27 not out, backed up by Yannick Parker with 23 and David Dunfee with 12. For the Haverfordwest team, Mark Thorpe took two or eight and Chris Phillips one for nine. Although Adam James had an attacking innings of 26, the town team were unable to keep up with the run rate and keep their wickets intact at the same time. Chris Phillips had a supporting knock of 17 and Michael Jones scored 15, but Harfat lost by 37 runs. Stanford finished with figures of two for three and there was a wicket each for Yannick Parker, David Parcell and David Dunfee. The Saundersfoot players have a week off before facing Pembroke Dock and Burton on Sunday, February 24, at the Meads Leisure Centre Milford Haven. This Sunday, February 17, Pembroke Dock have fixtures against Haverfordwest A and Hook.
