Pembroke travelled to Haverfordwest to play their rearranged league fixture. It was clear from the outset that Haverfordwest meant business after Pembroke had secured all three points in their first league match. Haverfordwest showed great composure on the ball, which resulted in them playing attractive, attacking hockey, which always had Pembroke on the back foot. Victoria Scourfield, Hannah Thomas, Rosie McBride and Laura Scott defended tirelessy, but could not prevent Haverfordwest securing all three points. Pembroke travelled to Cardigan on Sunday to face Crymych Under 18s. Pembroke blooded three of their Under 15s, namely, Catrin Cox at sweeper, Libby Roberts, right midfield and Harriet Newman, forward. They adapted well to the pace of the game, with Catrin Cox putting in an excellent performance at sweeper. Pembroke's midfield of Catherine McNally, Katherine Hunter, Hannah Thomas and Claire Lewis proved too strong for Crymych and from this platform many scoring opportunities were created. Laura Scott was a revelation as the short corner taker, scoring with two excellent strikes. Crymych continued to work hard for each other, forcing Pembroke to work for every piece of possession. Pembroke proved to be too strong, running out 5-0 winners. Team: Victoria Scourfield (vice-vapt), Hannah Thomas, Carla Jones, Claire Lewis, Nadia Lawrence, Catherine McNally, Jemma Preece, Carys Jones (capt), Sara Lin, Laura Scott, Rosie McBride, Katherine Hunter. Under 15s Pembroke's Under 15s found themselves down to nine players at the start of their fixture with Carmarthen. Well done to this nine, most of whom had got out of their sickbeds to turn out for Pembroke and showed what keen and dedicated team members they are. Carmarthen, playing with a full team, started the stronger, but it was Pembroke who created the better scoring opportunities. When Pembroke's stand-in keeper, Kate Roberts, had to leave the field, sister Libby took up the challenge and made several excellent and important saves. The defence of Catrin, Kirston and Carys played excellently, as did the midfield of Emily, Hayley, Megan and Harriet. These players are developing into an extremely talented team. Well done girls!
