The threatened closure of the Minor Injuries Unit is a matter of great concern to us all in the area which is covered by South Pembrokeshire Hospital. The concern was one of the major topics of conversation at this week's coffee/table top sales morning, a regular event held by the Friends of South Pembs Hospital.

Photos and articles were clearly displayed showing the items which the Friends have purchased with money donated by the public. These gifts to the hospital are given when the Hywel Dda Health Board will not fund them.

Some items such as the new patient controlled TVs have been bought for the Sunderland Ward and the latest major donation has been a number of wheelchairs, two for the Cleddau River Day Unit and eight for the Occupational Therapy Department, which are loaned for up to six weeks to help people to be rehabilitated to their own homes.

If you were not able to join them last Tuesday, perhaps you will be able to go along to their next coffee morning/table top sales on Tuesday, October 9, from 10 am to 12.30 pm, in Pembroke Town Hall. There are lots of new stallholders coming along to these regular events.
