A land and air search for a missing pensioner in the Stepaside area over the weekend ended on Sunday afternoon when the 81-year-old was found safe and well after spending the night in fields. The man was spotted by the helicopter pilot in a wooded area at approximately 1.30 pm after being missing since 5 pm the previous day. As the area he was in was not normally accessible on foot, the Tenby police QPod unit was despatched with two officers who found the man, confirmed his identity and transported him to safety. As well as the helicopter and the QPod, police dog handlers and the Brecon Mountain Rescue team had also been involved in the search.
