THE longest day of the summer is fast approaching, a time for magic and mischief - and there will be plenty of it at Milford Haven's Torch Theatre on June 24 when 'Bottom' and his 'Rude Mechanicals' create a thrilling web of mistaken identity and confusion! Set to Mendelssohn's joyous music, Independent Ballet Wales' mesmerising and enchanting production of William Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' is the most colourful and entertaining classical ballet this year. It has original choreography, expressive costumes and stunning sets. With expansive choreography by the company's artistic director, Darius James, and critically acclaimed costumes by Welsh designer, Yvonne Greenleaf, this young and vital company pushes back the barriers of classical ballet and challenges its dancers to interpret some of the finest characters in literature - the result is a unique, unpretentious style which has made it one of the most popular touring classical ballet companies in the UK. This "...charming and gifted company" and their production of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' can be seen at the Torch Theatre, Milford Haven, on Friday, June 24, at 7.30 pm. At the time of going to press, there was a limited number of tickets still available - contact the box office on 01646 695267.
