Edwina Hart AM, Minister for Social Justice and Regeneration with the Welsh Assembly Government, will be visiting South Pembrokeshire today (Friday) on a tour of community projects which have benefited from the latest round of funding from the Community Facilities and Activities Programme. The minister will be touring the sites with local AM Christine Gwyther, who has supported several of the projects in their applications. They will be visiting South Pembrokeshire Arts Network in Narberth at 1.30 pm; St. Oswald's Playgroup in Jeffreyston at 2.45 pm; Lamphey Village Hall at 4 pm and Pembroke Dock Bowls Club at 4.45 pm. Span Arts has been granted a total of £200,000 for the purchase of the building which currently houses the successful community arts organisation; St Oswald's Playgroup has been awarded £79,042 to build a brand new eco-classroom facility for the playgroup; Lamphey Village Hall has been granted £105,000 to demolish and rebuild the old village hall with full disabled access and improved facilities; and Pembroke Dock Bowling Club has been awarded £32,155.63 for improvements to the existing clubhouse building and facilities.
