The sun shone down on Pembrokeshire on Sunday for the popular Pembrokeshire County Run 2019.
Around 500 motor vehicles and motorbikes of all ages from many parts of the UK lined the County Showground, including Mini’s of all ages for their 60th Anniversary year.
Exhibits of all ages took part in the event which was sponsored by the Western Telegraph including a number of head turning vintage commercial vehicles.
There to give them all a warm Pembrokeshire welcome were Jeff and Sian Edwards the founders and organisers of their Pembrokeshire County Motoring Events, along with representatives of the Paul Sartori Foundation and their guests - Clr. Simon Hancock, Chairman of the Pembrokeshire County Council; Clr. Terry Davies, Mayor of Milford Haven (the original start line of this event in its early years); Mrs. Nicola Owen, President of the Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society who was accompanied by her husband and consort, Mr Alan Bland of the legendary J and G Bland who waved out all of the Minis crossing the start line.
All exhibits were parked swiftly and safely by the event’s dedicated marshals, before the vehicles made their way over the start line at 10.30 am, picking up many others en route.
The 85 mile route made its way via - Newgale, Solva, St David’s, Goodwick, Fishguard, Dinas and Newport. There was a brief stop at our Halfway Stop at the popular Dyfed Shire Horse Farm courtesy of our dear friends the Cole family.
The second leg of the Motoring Tour continued along the A487 to Cardigan before making its way along the A478 to Narberth followed by the A40 to the Finish Line back at the Pembrokeshire County Showground.
“The 2019 Run was a wonderful success for both the County of Pembrokeshire and the Paul Sartori Foundation,” said Jeff and Sian who would like to thank everyone who took part, including the spectators who lined the route and the many photographers along the way.
“Grateful thanks also go to the Western Telegraph, Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society, Paul Sartori Foundation, Dyfed Shire Horse Farm, EPS for their sound system, our fast food and ice cream vendors, and a very special thanks to our guests,” continued Jeff.
“Finally our very grateful thanks to our very hard working marshals led by Phil Thompson and Noel Robinson along with Amanda Myatt on Gate 3 for the way they parked all vehicles swiftly and safely,” he addded.
The final Pembrokeshire County Motoring Event of the 2019 season will be the South Pembrokeshire Coastal Run 2019 on Saturday, October 5.
Next year the Pembrokeshire County Run 2020 will take place on Sunday, September 6.
