Macmillan Cancer Support received a boost last week from a donation given by a couple who have enjoyed holidaying in the county for years.
Bryan and Val Smith, who hail from Bromsgrove in Worcestershire, have been regulars at the Milton Bridge Caravan Park for 19 years and recently, with the help of the holiday park's owners, Dave and Julie Mooney, staged a fundraising BBQ and raffle for Macmillan Cancer Support.
It was the couple's way of thanking the charity for the treatment that was given to their son Andrew, who sadly passed away in April.
Fifty-one-year-old Andrew was born disabled and Bryan and Val, who cared for him all his life, managed to raise £250 for the Macmillan charity from the fundraiser, which also saw their other son Peter and his wife Tracey, who also own a static caravan at the park, help with the day.
"Andrew was quite a character and spent on awful lot of time down here staying at the park with us," said Bryan. "He was very popular and well known at the park, and loved his holidays in Pembrokeshire," he added.
Macmillan fundraising manager, Sue Reece, said: "I'd like to thank everyone at the caravan park for fundraising for Macmillan. The money will help us to continue providing essential support for people affected by cancer in Pembrokeshire."
