On a course that was in excellent condition and on a day that lent itself to some good and not so good golf, the Milford Haven Seniors member and guest day got away to a fine start. Not quite so many in attendance this year what with holidays and various other good causes, but the ones that were there had a treat, not only with the course, but with an appetising and very filling clubhouse buffet after the game. Organised by David Christopher, with prizes presented by John Laugharne, the seniors' captain, the stableford format produced some solid scores, with Milford member Harry Porter and his guest Mike Williams from Haverfordwest with 39 points, taking second place on a countback from Owain Picton and John Evans of South Pembs., and in first place on a fine 40 points were Mick Durward and his guest John Hancock, of Tenby. They had tried valiantly over the past three years to win this fine tray and goblets that had been donated by David Christopher in his captain's year, and this time they were skilful enough to fend off any challenges.
