The 12th Milford Haven Music Festival is offering yet another exciting programme during its week of vocal, choral and instrumental music in September.

The far-famed three Welsh tenors, Rhys Meirion, Aled Hall and Alun Rhys Jenkins, with violinist Charlie Lovell Jones and pianist Caradog Williams, feature in the opening Gala Charity Concert at the Torch on Saturday, September 7.

Sponsored by South Hook LNG Co Ltd and presented in conjunction with Milford Haven Round Table, the nominated charity is Prostate Cymru.

A celebrity substitute for soprano Angharad Morgan, who had to withdraw due to the offer of a prestigious Glyndebourne part, is being actively sought.

On Tuesday, September 10, the brilliant Bute Brass Ensemble makes a welcome return to St. Katharine's Church, with coffee and Welsh cakes, with support from Pembrokeshire County Council, while the traditional free workshop will take place at Milford Haven School between 10 am and 12 pm and 2-4 pm.

The school is also the venue for the by now traditional Young Musicians' Platform on Thursday, September 12, when the best of local young talent takes the stage, with generous support from Milford Haven Town Council.

Climax of the week is the 24th annual concert at the Torch on Saturday, September 14, sponsored by Valero, and featuring the magnificent music of the iconic Morriston Orpheus Choir directed by Amman Davies, with guest soloist Gary Griffiths (baritone), Wales' entry in the Cardiff Singer of the World, together with vocalist Osian Bowen and pianist James Southall.

Tickets for the concerts are £25 while those for the Bute Brass Ensemble are £5 or £25 for a group of six with free admission, but a collection for the Young Musician's Platform.
