June 16-23 will see the first ever Midsummer Festival hitting the streets of Pembroke Dock. The Pembroke Dock Festival is an opportunity to celebrate the town's rich history, diversity and identity.
This is the first festival organised by the Pembroke Dock Festival Group, a band of indviduals, organisations and businesses, who hope to raise the profile of the town and make the cultural celebrations an annual event.
The result of this is a week-long programme of dances, walks, live music and much more for everyone to enjoy and take part in. Go along, get involved and help make Pembroke Dock Midsummer Fesival a week to remember!

Friday, June 16: Midsummer Dance and Cabaret, Pater Hall, Dimond Street, 8-11 pm, tickets £10. Big band music from the Merlinaires, supported by the Woodentops and comedian Dickie Hart. Tel. 01646 685197/684067 to book.

Saturday, June 17: Fun in the Park, Memorial Park, Bush Street, 12-4 pm. A great day for all ages, including BMX demo, climbing wall, trampolines, circus skills, live music, exhibition stands and more, with lots of free activities!
Community Cafe, Pembroke Dock Youth Centre, Bush Street, 12-4 pm. The Youth Club prepare and serve up their own culinary delights in their own cafe.

Numbers Racket, Station Inn, 9 pm, admission free. The Numbers Racket are one of the UK's top rock 'n' roll, jump jive and R 'n' B bands. Their brass section, The West Coast Horns, has toured extensively as part of the Tod Sharpville Band which included former Rolling Stone, Mick Taylor.

Monday, June 19: Tea Dance, Pater Hall, Dimond Street, 2-4 pm, admission free. Dance and tea for all ages!
Guided walk round the historic military town (duration approximately one hour). Meet at Pembroke Dock Library 2 and 4 pm. Free.
Cheese and wine evening, Gun Tower Museum, Front Street, 7.30 pm. Wine and local cheeses to a light musical accompaniment. Tickets on sale at the Guntower Museum. Tel 01646 622246.
Tuesday, June 20: Fun quiz, Red Roses Inn, High Street. £1 per person, teams of 1-4. Test your brain power!
Wednesday, June 21: Midsummer Parade and Picnic, Town and Western Way Car Park, 6-10 pm, free. The children of Pembroke Dock have worked with Sand Palace Arts and Pater Arts to create a pageant to celebrate the midsummer solstice. There will be a parade from Pater Hall through the town accompanied by Djembe Drummers, belly dancers, musicians and more. At Western Way, the fun will carry on with performances of dance, circus skills, music and a BBQ. Take your family along with a picnic to join in the festivities.
Thursday, June 22: Open Day at West Wales Maritime Heritage Society's Boatyard, Front Street, 1-5 pm, admission free. An opportunity to view the restoration of classic boats.

Rod Clements, former musician and songwriter with chart-topping folk rockers Lindisfarne (remember Meet Me On The Corner, Lady Eleanor, Fog On The Tyne?) brings his new acoustic trio to end the festival in style. A style that effortlessly mixes folk, blues, country and western and rock 'n' roll. This event is sponsored by the Arts Council of Wales Night Out scheme.
