Plans to develop a micro brewery and visitor centre in the village of Saundersfoot, have been given the thumbs up by members of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority's development management committee.
The application from Pembrokeshire Brewing Company Ltd, proposing a change of use of the disused old school building on The Ridgeway, to a micro-brewery/visitor centre, was approved at their meeting on Wednesday.
The application features the provision of a stainless steel flue on the north elevation of the building, a new door opening on the west elevation, along with associated staff and visitor car parking.
The proposals attracted letters of objection from residents, who stated their concerns over the impact the development may have on the environment and an increase in traffic in the area.
The scheme was approved subject to conditions (amended from those in the planning officer's report) to require a condenser unit, and the opening hours to be, from 10 am to 8 pm, Monday to Saturday, and from 12 to 6 pm on a Sunday.
Deliveries are to be restricted to between 10 am and 6 pm.
