In the past few months, fund-raising for the Cystic Fibrosis Mia Appeal has continued with unabated enthusiasm, bringing in over £850 through a varied series of events. At the end of May, 19-month- old Mia's favourite football team, the Kilgetty Under 8s - her brothers Leon and Harry are members - were joined by their friends in a sponsored walk through Canaston Woods, raising £384. In June, Michelle Lewis celebrated her 40th birthday at Kilgetty Sports Club, where she received donations of £190 in lieu of gifts - her husband Ian had marked his birthday in the same way last year. A girls' night out in July was another success, when Mia's mother, Merrilee Phillips, and 24 friends went on a mystery tour, which took them from Kilgetty Sports Club to the Templebar, Amroth, the RAOB Kilgetty, the Evergreen, Tenby, Carew Cricket Club, Cresselly Cricket Club, before ending back at the Sports Club. Thanks are extended to all the landlords by Merrilee and the Pembrokeshire CF Branch for allowing the collections at each stop, which brought in £297.75.
