On Sunday, August 13, Pembrokeshire MG Car Club ran a car event entitled the Pendine Dash‚ for owners of MG motor cars of all ages. Over 100 MG cars from all over the UK travelled to the county for the weekend to take part in the event. On the Sunday, having followed an 80-mile route through Pembrokeshire, the cars finished in the picturesque location of Picton Castle. The whole purpose of this event was to raise money for the club's chosen charity for the year, the Wales Air Ambulance. Local businesses in the county kindly supported the event, with the result that a grand total of £1,500 was raised for the Air Ambulance. On Tuesday, November 14, at their monthly club night at the Nantyffin Hotel, Llandissilio, a cheque presentation for this amount was made to Hilary Harvey, local co-ordinator for the Wales Air Ambulance. Also present were members of the Pembrokeshire MG Car Club. The Pendine Dash will be held again next year, on Sunday, August 12, with monies raised going to a local charity.

Members of the Pembrokeshire MG Car Club are seen with Hilary Harvey, a local fund-raiser for the Wales Air Ambulance, when the cheque was handed over. The MG models on the table in front of the cheque are made from engine rocker cover boxes.
