Hundreds of people hoping to get a small part in the film Nottingham - Ridley Scott's new Robin Hood epic - made their way to Pembrokeshire at the weekend for a casting session.
The first in line at the Technium in Pembroke Dock arrived at 6 am.
Would-be extras travelled from Nottingham, Anglesey, London and across South Wales, with some sleeping in camper vans overnight.
Casting Collective, the casting agency involved, set out to see one thousand people and estimated that they would process about 150 applications an hour.
They were delighted to see such a high turnout and pleased with the combination of an excellent venue and well thought out logistics for handling the crowd.
This enabled them to see 250 people an hour and achieve their target of 1,000 by lunchtime.
Unfortunately, this resulted in hundreds of hopefuls turning up when the casting session had ended.
The latecomers were given the opportunity to sign up on-line, while Technium staff produced information posters informing people of the website where they could still register.
Clr. Rob Lewis, cabinet member for tourism and cultural services, said the huge level of interest to appear in the film - coupled with the interest in Harry Potter, which was also filming in Pembrokeshire - was evidence that both films would benefit the county.
"We have also seen a lot of visitors joining local people at Freshwater West to see Shell Cottage at the centre of the Harry Potter set," he said.
He added that with an anticipated increase in domestic holidays this year, Pembrokeshire's tourism businesses were well placed to capitalise on this interest and enjoy a bumper year.
