Over 130 diners enjoyed the Mermaid Supper at The Mermaid on The Strand, Saundersfoot, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The event was organised by the Saundersfoot, Tenby and District committee whose friends came along to support this popular fixture. There was an especially happy atmosphere as many felt they were emerging from hibernation after a cold and cheerless January!
As always, the meal was delicious and the Mermaid's young staff were friendly and efficient as they served the large house.
Chairman Pauline Davies thanked everyone for their support. The committee were especially grateful to the owners of the Mermaid, Andrew and Lindsey Evans, whose continuing generosity to the committee, and hard work, enabled the event to take place.
There was then a presentation of a photograph of the committee to the very popular, recently retired, honorary treasurer, Nesta Williams. Nesta, the mother of Lindsey Evans, had kindly organised the evening's complex seating plan.
The event raised a splendid £633 for Macmillan's South West Wales Appeal. This will fund improved cancer services in this area.
