On Tuesday, a presentation of a bench was made to St. Mary's Church in Tenby.

In the photograph, from left, are: Derek Worthington, Rev. Mark Soady, Mike Evans, Canon David Jenkins, Martin Wood-Robinson and Anthony Morgans.

The hardwood bench was constructed in the Mencap Gardens workshop in Stackpole by the students and staff and was given as a token of friendship to the church.

Over the years, St. Mary's has been generous in its support for the gardens, where students with learning disabilities are trained in horticulture and related topics. The gardens are open weekdays between 10 am and 4.15 pm and sell a variety of PYO soft fruit, vegetables and unusual garden plants.

On July 11, the Mencap Gardens will be holding its annual Open Day which is an opportunity to meet everyone involved in looking after this historic walled garden. The event is always a lot of fun, with activities, games and a raffle. 'Phone 01646 661442 for information.
