This week's photograph represents a happier time in Monkton's Priory Church, and will bring back memories for many. It dates back to around 1954, when those present had got together for a church clean. The photograph was donated by Ann Lankshear.

The society has a busy month ahead, with three events, all at Monkton Priory Church Hall: our coffee morning is tomorrow (Saturday), 10.30 am - 1 pm (exhibition, plus old home movies); we have a quiz, plus buffet, on Friday evening, November 11, at 7.30 pm, and a talk on the following Friday evening, November 18, at 7.30 pm, entitled 'Stories Behind some Military Headstones' by Owen Vaughan.
