A moving open air service was held on Saundersfoot harbour on Sunday in memory of little Jordan Reid, whose body was found on Coppet Hall beach, Saundersfoot the previous Tuesday.
Jordan, who would have been two on Tuesday, was discovered on rocks at the Wiseman's Bridge end of the beach by a couple walking their dogs.
A post mortem carried out by Home Office pathologists revealed the cause of death to be drowning
The beach was closed to the public for most of the day while police forensic teams examined the scene.
Jordan's mother, 32-year-old Mirlene Priscilla Stewart, of Birmingham, appeared before Carmarthen magistrates on Friday charged with his murder.
She was remanded in custody to appear before Swansea Crown Court on Tuesday.
More than 500 holidaymakers, local residents and emergency team members attended the memorial service which was conducted by Rector of Saundersfoot, Canon Michael Butler.
During the service Canon Butler, who has been offering prayers throughout the week at St. Issells Church, was presented with flowers by the couple who found the toddler.
Prayers were said for the little boy, his mother, his family, the couple who found him and for everyone involved in the investigation.
The tragedy has shocked the local community and Canon Butler said that people from far and wide had attended the service. He hoped the service would help with the healing process.
