Sir,
I am writing to say how proud I was to witness and take part in the Long Course Weekend in Tenby. It was a spectacular event - from watching the swim off the North Beach in Tenby on Friday night, to the cycling on Saturday and then finally the half and full marathon on the Sunday.
Seeing people take part was inspiring, there was a real spirit and energy that lifted everyone. The highlight for me was during the half marathon, approaching Manorbier beach from Freshwater East. It was so stunning, a runner next to me gasped and said "Wow, which beach is that? It's amazing!"
As a Manorbier resident, I was so proud of our beautiful village, and the wonderful support in the form of cheers, drinks and snacks; it boosted us all.
There cannot be a better advertisement for Tenby and its surroundings. People saw villages off the beaten track, and appreciated what a beautiful environment we live in.
It was brilliantly organised, and all the volunteers and supporters did a wonderful job.
So thank you, for a truly memorable weekend.
