An unusual harvest festival was celebrated at Folly Farm, Begelly, last Friday evening. A large congregation from the parishes of Begelly, Crunwere and Ludchurch and many friends joined together for the service in the splendid new theatre, which has only just been completed.
Rev. Nick Cale, rector of the three parishes, led the service, which was a blend of traditional and contemporary music, prayers and readings.
The guest preacher, Rev. Roger Jones, vicar of Pembroke, spoke of the way in which everything in life is instant and that we need to take time to reflect on God's goodness.
A retiring collection was received for the link parish in Uganda.
Following the service, everyone enjoyed the pig roast and fairground rides, where it was good to see young and old alike having fun together.
The evening was rounded off with an enthusiastic barn dance, again led by Rev. Roger Jones, and enjoyed by all.
The parishes would like to extend their thanks to Glyn and Ann Williams and Chris and Karina Ebsworth, of Folly Farm, for their generosity in allowing the use of the venue and for their support in this event.
