Meet Nwla-Belle Ronowitz - an Ironman Wales' baby!

Little Nwla-Belle was born at 6.30 pm - right in the middle of the sporting spectacular on Sunday.

Mum Claire and dad Matthew had fortunately planned a home birth, but their new arrival came four days early, with Claire only being in labour for three-and-a-half hours before Nwla-Belle was born!

A local businessman, Matthew had been busy with the Ironman event himself, running the Qube Restaurant in Tudor Square and the Tenby Hog Roast stall at the expo and finishing area at the Rectory Car Park.

Midwife Elspeth had to be escorted by ambulance personnel to their home at Broadwell Hayes, while Matthew had to make a sprint home himself too.

Fortunately, though, both arrived in time for the birth.

Nwla-Belle, a sister for Mia and Charlie, was six pounds 11 ounces and both mum and baby are doing well.

"It was certainly a very busy weekend," said Matthew yesterday (Thursday).

"Ironman Wales was great for Tenby and I was delighted to be involved. The town was buzzing. Tenby has benefited a lot and congratulations to the organisers who did a marvellous job. It will be a day I certainly won't forget!"

Claire added: "We would also like to thank our midwife for her help and support, as well as our family and friends."
