Sir,

My husband and I were on holiday between May 10 and 17 staying at Trees Caravan Park, Stepaside. We have been before and know and love the area.

On Monday, May 12, my husband Peter suffered a severe diabetic 'hypo', the first ever and we were both very very anxious and frightened, being so far from home.

We needn't have worried, because the owners of 'Trees', Sandra and Tom Towers took over and arranged for a doctor , Dr. Allan from Saundersfoot, who in turn called the paramedics (the good looking team they said), who subsequently took Peter by ambulance to Withybush Hospital at Haverfordwest.

Tom Towers came to the hospital, Sandra Towers looked after our dog 'Becky'.

Dr. Allan was so calm and helpful, the paramedics were so re-assuring and professional and the staff at the medical assessment ward were superb.

Peter was kept in hospital for two nights during which time Tom and Sandra really looked after Becky and myself, they were patient, kind, re-assuring and such a comfort to me.

Tom took me backwards and forward to the hospital and came to bring Peter back to Trees Caravan Park on the Wednesday.

He offered to drive our car back home and get back to Stepaside by train! Fortunately, although I was a wreck, I was a calm wreck and was able to drive back to Ludlow.

Tom and Sandra are so aptly named, as indeed they were 'towers' of strength.

Through the good auspices of your newspaper, could Peter and I please thank everybody who helped us, in this day and age when most news is unpleasant, it restores faith in human kindness to know that there are such people around.

We will be forever grateful to these wonderful people and look forward to returning to your lovely part of the world in September.

Maureen and Peter Brevetor (and Becky our little Yorkie),

Bleathwood,

Near Ludlow,

Shropshire.
