Each year, the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society presents a series of honorary awards to people who have given exceptional service to the society, mainly in a voluntary capacity, and in many cases for well over 20 years. This year, one of the society's esteemed silver medals was presented to Terry Clarke, FRAgS, in recognition for his outstanding lifetime contribution. Terry, of Knapps Farm, Martletwy, started as a steward at the Royal Welsh in 1989 and at the Winter Fair from its commencement in 1990. In 2000, Terry became the chair of the livestock committee, from which he recently announced his retirement after 15 years of dedicated service. "We are forever grateful for the hardwork and dedication of all the stewards and volunteers involved with the society. The presentation of our honorary society awards is a way for us to show our appreciation to those that have given exceptional service to the society for many years. It is this commitment and generosity which make the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society the success that it is," said Steve Hughson, RWAS chief executive. Terry stood down last year from chief cattle steward at the Pembrokeshire County Show after many years of excellent service.

RWAS president, Mrs. Rhian Duggan and her husband, John, present Terry Clarke with his medal.
