Pembrokeshire County Council's Meals on Wheels service celebrated the Queen's Jubilee by delivering over 400 special meals across the county over the two-day holiday.
The menu included chicken breast poached in wine and cream with leeks and Jubilee Cherry Tarte. A specially printed menu card was delivered with each meal.
"It is at times such as the Jubilee celebrations that those who live alone, and who are unable to leave their homes, feel most isolated," said Anita Bell, head of the council's community care commissioning.
"We wanted to make a special effort to ensure that as many people as a possible felt included in the festivities and had happy memories of this landmark occasion."
Everyone who normally receives the service was sent a meal prepared in either the authority's kitchens or the kitchen of one of the several private organisations who regulary provide such meals.
Around 40 WRVS volunteers were happy to give up part of their Bank Holiday to deliver the meals.
"This has been a most exciting and worthwhile project," said Joan Belt, organiser of the Meals on Wheels scheme in Templeton.
"I know that those who have enjoyed the meals are appreciative of the effort from the volunteers."
