On Saturday, Clr. Michael Williams, chairman of Trustees at Tenby Museum, received a cheque for £1,400 from Andrea Chappell, sales executive at McCarthy and Stone’s Paxton Court, on behalf of the museum.

In January, McCarthy and Stone hosted an exhibition of art works by four local artists - Alec Lewis, Guy Manning, David JP Morgan and Anna Waters - to raise funds for the museum.

The event was co-ordinated by trustee John Ross and collections manager Mark Lewis of Tenby Museum.

In an on-going commitment to the local community, McCarthy and Stone donated £10 to the museum funds for every guest who attended the event.

Clr. Williams said: “At a time where public funding for museums is being reduced, this was an exceptionally generous gesture by McCarthy and Stone and the museum is exceptionally grateful for this support.

“The evening was a great success and gave guests the opportunity to not only view some wonderful art, but also the chance to view the magnificent resurrection work of the old Gatehouse Hotel into luxury retirement apartments.”
