Tenby's Deputy Mayor has congratulated the county for being named in a prestigious worldwide magazine's best coastal destinations.

National Geographic recently voted Pembrokeshire the second best coastal destination in the world, sharing second place with the Tutukaka coast in New Zealand and beating places like the Seychelles, Bermuda and Costa Rica.

The magazine's experts rated 99 of the world's great islands, coastlines, and beaches for sustainability and authenticity.

"I felt very proud when I read this, what a fabulous achievement for Pembrokeshire," said Deputy Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sandra Williams, at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council.
