The Mayor of Tenby has paid tribute to the MP who was tragically killed in West Yorkshire last week.
At Tuesday night’s meeting of Tenby Town Council, Mayor, Clr. Laurence Blackhall said a few words about the death of Labour MP Jo Cox who was attacked outside a library on her way to a constituency surgery.
“We sit as a town council who regardless of political affiliation, believe in the value of public service. We respect those who offer themselves to serve others,” he told his colleagues.
“Last week, Jo Cox, a member of the Parliament of our country, was killed on the streets, as she sought to listen to the concerns of her constituents.
“We share the horror of everyone at her tragic death and we send our condolences to her family and friends,” added Clr. Blackhall.
