The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) Cymru will hold a mass die-in outside the Senedd on Tuesday, July 14 at 1pm, timed to coincide with the final First Minister's Questions before summer recess.
The demonstration, titled ‘Everyone Down on the Ground’ - will see supporters, trade unionists, faith groups, and campaigners from across Wales lie down around and on the steps of the Welsh Parliament in a powerful visual protest calling on the Welsh and UK Governments to act decisively on Palestine.
The action follows PSC Cymru's Pledge for Palestine campaign ahead of May's Senedd election, in which candidates were asked to commit to supporting Palestinian rights, backing accountability measures, and endorsing Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS). Nearly 40% of newly elected MSs backed the pledge, rising to 70% within the new Welsh Cabinet.
The protest also comes weeks after a UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry report, published on 23 June 2026, found that Israeli forces have deliberately targeted Palestinian children in Gaza as part of an ongoing genocide, and documented the detention, torture, and denial of medical care, food, and water to children in the territory. The commission found that killings and serious injuries of children have continued even since the October 2025 ceasefire.
Bethan Sayed, Co Chair of PSC Cymru, said: "Nearly 40% of our new Senedd, and 70% of the Cabinet, pledged to stand with the Palestinian people. On Tuesday, we are going to the steps of our Parliament to remind them of that pledge. The UN's own Commission of Inquiry has found that children in Gaza are being killed and wounded on an industrial scale, tortured, and denied water and medicine. In the face of that, silence and inaction are not an option.
“We are calling on the Welsh Government to urgently review its public procurement and bring forward BDS measures to end complicity and ensure Wales is a globally responsible nation — and to use its voice to challenge a UK Government that has actively enabled this genocide."
PSC Cymru's demands include:
- An end to complicity in Israel's atrocity crimes
- Implementation of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions within the Welsh Government's powers, without delay
- Sustained pressure on the UK Government to end arms sales to Israel and impose sanctions
The protest will take place on the steps of the Senedd, Cardiff Bay, from 1–2pm on Tuesday 14 July. Speakers will include representatives from across the political spectrum.
