Shoppers in the St. Govan's Centre, Pembroke Dock, were entertained with carol singing as they looked for Christmas bargains. Dressed as Mary for the part, Helenwyn Williams sang through a whole range of Christmas themed songs to raise money for Pembrokeshire Circles. She is pictured here with her young assistant Molly, who collected a total of £92 in her bucket for this worthy cause. John Williams, Helenwyn's father, revealed that his daughter had spent many hours practising with determination. She had memorised all the words, and though her singing was quieter than in the practice sessions, it was no less tuneful. Lynsey Bone, of Pembrokeshire Circles, explained that the carol singing exercise was all Helenwyn's own idea. She had telephoned Lynsey with the whole plan and all that was needed was some extra encouragement. Several friends came along to offer their support, and join in the singing where they could remember the words! Pembrokeshire Circles is a division of Circles Network Wales. The charity seeks to help people with learning difficulties achieve their aims and gain little triumphs. Employing a holistic approach, the network exists through friendship circles of support. Using person-centred planning tools, they can encourage a more independent approach to life, where choices exist.
